In a Sunday announcement (June 22, 2025), President Donald Trump revealed that the United States had conducted a highly successful attack on three Iranian nuclear sites – Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan. The Fordo facility, an underground uranium enrichment site, was specifically targeted. The declaration came just two days after Trump signaled a willingness to engage in diplomatic discussions. He is set to address the nation at 0200 GMT (7:30 a.m. IST), following the U.S. decision to support Israel’s military actions against Iran’s nuclear program.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” Trump stated on Truth Social. “A full payload of bombs was dropped on the primary site, Fordow.”
The recent attacks are part of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, now in its second week. On Friday (June 20), both sides exchanged strikes, even as European foreign ministers held talks with Iran’s top diplomat in Geneva to try to de-escalate tensions. Despite the four-hour meeting, no agreement was reached.
