A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru saw an unusual event when a passenger was stuck inside the aircraft’s lavatory for the entire duration of the flight. The airline has apologized to the passenger and allegedly offered a refund. The event has captured public attention.
The passenger was eventually released upon landing at Bengaluru airport, with ground staff and engineers intervening to force open the locked door. The Mumbai-Bengaluru flight experienced a significant delay, departing at 2:10 AM rather than its scheduled time of 10:55 PM.
The incident began when a passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom and became trapped due to a malfunctioning lock. The crew tried to open the door, but they were unable to do so. To alleviate the passenger’s distress, the crew passed a handwritten note under the door, urging them to stay put until the flight arrived in Bengaluru. The note quickly spread on social media, and users found it amusing. The aircraft landed in Bengaluru around 3:45 AM. The airline subsequently expressed regret for the incident and apologized to the affected passenger.
