Former CM Jai Ram Thakur has reacted strongly to the controversies surrounding the police recruitment examination, accusing the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government of jeopardizing the future of Himachal’s youth. He has demanded the immediate establishment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the alleged irregularities and cheating during the exam. Thakur asserted that the Chief Minister should resign due to the severity of the situation. He condemned the recruitment process as a farce, referencing video evidence of widespread cheating and group work within the examination halls. Thakur characterized the situation as a criminal act, not just administrative mismanagement. The former CM also raised concerns about the lack of transparency, including the failure to release CCTV footage from examination centers. He noted that allegations included the use of mobile phones in exam halls and the absence of invigilators stopping the cheating. Thakur also highlighted the arrest of individuals in the case but emphasized that more comprehensive investigations were needed.
