A violent incident unfolded at the Mahnar Community Health Center in the Vaishali district of Bihar, where two individuals, under the influence of alcohol, attacked medical staff and security personnel. The men also engaged in vandalism within the health center’s premises. Police who responded to the scene were also met with aggression. The incident began when the intoxicated individuals, both injured, arrived at the health center seeking treatment. Following the disturbance, the police managed to take them into custody. It is reported that Mantu Rai, a resident of Ganiyari, Desri police station area, was involved in a motorcycle accident.
The hospital staff, including Dr. Arun Kumar, were providing treatment when the two men initiated the violence. They damaged hospital property, including furniture in the waiting area and items in the OPD. Those injured in the assault include Dr. Arun Kumar (medical officer), Rana Pratap Singh (security personnel), Anand Mohan, Kailas Paswan, Gopal, and Dinesh Paswan. Dr. Arun Kumar reported that the patients became abusive during their treatment and assaulted the medical staff. When the guards attempted to intervene, they were also attacked. The men had reportedly been in an accident. The Mahnar police were informed, and the individuals also attacked the police when they arrived. The police provided medical care to the injured men before taking them into custody. An investigation into the matter is underway.
