Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, speaking in Ambedkar Nagar, claimed that the recruitment process for government jobs in the state was corrupt under the Samajwadi Party government prior to 2017. He alleged that these jobs were essentially ‘auctioned,’ implicating a single family. He contrasted this with the current process, which he stated is merit-based. Adityanath also presided over the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies for 194 development projects worth Rs 1,184 crore. In addition, the Chief Minister announced financial aid for farmers, with over Rs 500 crore earmarked for distribution under the ‘Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Bima Yojana,’ benefiting 11,690 families. Families of farmers affected by disasters will receive Rs 5 lakh each from the UP government. This occurred after Union Home Minister Amit Shah distributed appointment letters to over 60,000 new Civil Police Constables in Lucknow, emphasizing the importance of the expanded police force and the improved law and order situation since 2017. The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2024 was conducted across 67 districts to fill more than 60,000 vacancies.
