The two airlines manage over 1,000 daily flights across both domestic and international routes. The primary aim of the meeting was to assess operational capabilities and to ensure the airlines were meeting regulatory requirements. Seven critical areas were discussed to reinforce compliance and improve operational performance. The regulator reviewed recent operational data for Air India’s wide-body operations, with a focus on the Boeing 787 fleet. From June 12th to June 17th, 2025, a total of 83 flights in Air India’s wide-body operations were canceled, including 66 Boeing 787 flights. The DGCA recommended improvements to defect reporting. The meeting came after the Ahmedabad plane crash on June 12th where 270 lives were lost.
