A man was murdered in Ranchi, Jharkhand, following a dispute over a t-shirt. The altercation escalated into a physical confrontation, leading to the victim’s death at the hands of three individuals. The incident occurred near a railway overbridge, and the police swiftly initiated an investigation. Three suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the crime.
On May 24th, police discovered the body near a railway overbridge within the Chutia police station jurisdiction. The deceased was identified as Shani Ram. A special investigation team was formed to investigate the case thoroughly. The investigation team used evidence and technical aspects to investigate the murder.
Sanjay Singh (alias Jilu), Binnu Lohra, and Raja Kerketta, all residents of the Chutia police station area, were arrested. The suspects confessed to their crime, and the murder weapons (stones) were recovered based on their statements.
Initially, Sanjay was attempting to take a t-shirt from Shani Ram’s child, which led to a confrontation where Shani Ram assaulted Sanjay. Seeking revenge, Sanjay, along with Binu Lohra and Raja Kerketta, plotted the murder. They found Shani Ram resting near the railway overbridge and brutally attacked him with large stones, causing his death. The perpetrators concealed the body in nearby bushes. As stated by DIG Chandan Kumar Sinha, the murder occurred due to a dispute over a t-shirt. All three accused have been sent to jail. Shani Ram had a criminal history.
