The Chhattisgarh government’s Sports and Youth Welfare Department has initiated the State Sports Decoration Awards for the fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25. This program seeks to acknowledge and support exceptional performers, including athletes, trainers, and officials, at the state and national levels. The deadline for application submissions is set for June 26, 2025. The awards will honor the state’s martyrs, featuring the Shaheed Rajeev Pandey Award with a prize of ₹3 lakh and the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav and Veer Hanuman Singh Awards, each carrying ₹1.5 lakh. The Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Award and Vinod Chaubey Samman also provide a ₹25,000 incentive. The Chief Minister Trophy will recognize outstanding teams, with rewards ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh, determined by team size. Financial support will be given to selected athletes through an Inspiration Fund and Diet Money, the latter limited to those under 19. Coaches and referees will also be acknowledged. Application forms can be obtained online at http://sportsyw.cg.gov.in or from local sports offices and the State Sports Directorate in Raipur, along with required supporting documents. For the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman, applications must be endorsed by state sports associations. The selection process is based on the recommendations of sports associations, accomplishments in sports, and adherence to specified eligibility criteria. Athletes, coaches, and referees are encouraged to apply before the deadline of June 26, 2025. Incomplete or vague applications will not be considered; and the decision of the selection committee will be final.
