The industrialist Sunjay Kapur, known as the former husband of Karisma Kapoor, has died in the UK at the age of 53. Sources indicate that the cause was a heart attack that occurred while playing polo. His X post from June 9 is now circulating widely. The post focused on the finite nature of life on Earth.
The message read, “Your time on Earth is limited. Leave the ‘what ifs’ to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the ‘why nots’.” The caption explained, “Progress demands bold choices, not perfect conditions”.
Hours before his death, Sunjay Kapur shared his thoughts on the devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad. He wrote, “Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. #planecrash.”
Sunjay Kapur, chairman of Sona Comstar, was a respected name in the automotive industry. He also served as Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, providing leadership in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and three Union Territories.
He was first married to designer Nandita Mahtani, the marriage lasting two years. He married Karisma Kapoor in 2003 and they had two children together, before divorcing in 2016. Following his divorce from Karisma, he married model Priya Sachdev. The couple had a son together.
Following news of Kapur’s death, many celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Malaika Arora, went to Karisma Kapoor’s home in Mumbai.
