A tragic incident occurred in Patna, Bihar, where a Scorpio car intentionally ran over three police officers during a routine vehicle inspection. A female constable lost her life, and two sub-inspectors sustained serious injuries, necessitating immediate hospitalization. The police swiftly arrested the two occupants of the vehicle. The suspects explained their actions, revealing why they chose to drive into the officers rather than comply.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday at Patna’s Atal Path, where police were conducting vehicle checks. When a Scorpio was signaled to stop, the driver instead accelerated and struck three officers. SI Deepak Mani, ASI Avdhesh Kumar, and Constable Komal from the SK Puri police station were critically injured.
The officers were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Constable Komal was declared dead. Patna SSP Avakash Kumar arrived at the scene and arrested the two suspects, identified as property dealers Nikhil, Ankit, and Kuldeep. Another individual, Raja, is still being sought by the police. Nikhil and Ankit were arrested immediately after the incident.
Kuldeep was arrested the following day. The Scorpio was driven by property dealer Nikhil, who also owns the car. During questioning, Nikhil and Ankit admitted that they frequently visited JP Ganga Path in their Scorpio and were increasingly annoyed by the repeated vehicle checks, which prompted their reckless actions against the police officers.
