With key retirements affecting the Indian team, former cricketer Robin Uthappa has proposed his preferred playing XI for the upcoming Test series against England, starting June 20th. Uthappa suggests a dynamic opening partnership of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, with several other strategic picks.
Uthappa expressed his preference for Rahul at the top, citing his past success and form in England. He also advocated for Sai Sudharsan at No. 3, Shubman Gill at No. 4, and Karun Nair at No. 5 to add experience to the lineup. Rishabh Pant is positioned at No. 6, Nitish Kumar Reddy as a fast-bowling all-rounder at No. 7, and Ravindra Jadeja at No. 8. The suggested team includes Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna.
“At No. 3, I would love to see someone like Sai Sudharsan because of how technically right he is, and the potential he possesses as what we feel and believe he can do and achieve in Test cricket,” he stated. The inclusion of Sudharsan necessitates changes in batting order.
