The people of Chhattisgarh, suffering from intense heat and humidity, might soon find some respite. The absence of rain for a prolonged period has negatively impacted not just humans but also the local flora and fauna. Livestock are struggling to find water, and vegetable production is suffering.
The Meteorological Department suggests that the weather is poised to shift over the next two days. Favorable conditions are developing for the southwest monsoon to enter the southern regions of the state. There is a forecast of heavy thunderstorms and squalls, accompanied by rainfall, across many areas on June 14th and 15th.
On June 11, Bilaspur registered a maximum temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius, which was 2.3 degrees less than usual. Bilaspur also witnessed the highest temperature throughout the state.
If the forecast is correct, there is optimism that farmers, livestock, and the general public will find relief from the heat in the coming days.
