A disturbing video capturing the moment a party worker slapped the party president has become widespread on social media. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district during a public gathering. The victim was Mahendra Rajbhar, the national president of the Suheldev Swabhiman Party (SSP), and the assailant was identified as Brijesh Rajbhar.
The event occurred in Ashapur village within the Jalalpur police station area, held to mark Maharaja Suheldev’s victory day. Following the viral spread of the video, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav reacted strongly, condemning the assault as a representation of the increasing violence against the ‘PDA society’ under the BJP’s rule. Yadav suggested that the attacker should be immediately arrested and punished if the BJP was not complicit. He also warned that such actions will not subdue the PDA but will encourage further resistance.
Mahendra Rajbhar has pointed fingers at Om Prakash Rajbhar, the president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), alleging that he masterminded the attack. However, Om Prakash Rajbhar has not yet commented on the allegations. The SSP president has since lodged a formal complaint against Brijesh Rajbhar at the Jalalpur police station.
