The event occurred on a flight that was delayed by two hours, finally taking off at 2:10 AM instead of the scheduled 10:55 PM. The passenger, who was in seat 14D, went to the restroom shortly after takeoff. Unfortunately, the door malfunctioned and locked, trapping the passenger. The crew’s efforts to open the door were unsuccessful.
To provide some comfort, the crew slipped a handwritten note under the door, asking the passenger to remain calm and stay seated until the plane landed in Bengaluru. After the plane landed at approximately 3:45 AM, ground staff and engineers were able to open the door. The situation quickly went viral online, with many users finding the incident and the note humorous. SpiceJet has acknowledged the inconvenience and expressed regret.
