In East Singhbhum, a special awareness campaign spearheaded by the state government targeting illicit substances has been launched. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, inaugurated the campaign by sending off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. The chariot’s mission is to disseminate the message of freedom from addiction throughout the district, informing residents about the detrimental impacts of drugs. During the event, the Deputy Commissioner also led a pledge against substance abuse for the officials and staff. He pointed out that drug use affects not just an individual’s well-being, but also their future, family, and the broader community, causing both mental and physical health problems. He encouraged every segment of society to support the initiative to build a drug-free society. Citizens are encouraged to take part in the campaign and to educate others about the dangers of drug use. The campaign, running from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will incorporate various awareness programs to enlighten the public about the harmful effects of drugs.
