Following a public reprimand, Goa Medical College and Hospital’s CMO, Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar, has dismissed the apology offered by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. Kuttikar is demanding a public apology in the same department where he was previously addressed. The Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) has also expressed their support, hinting at strike action if the minister doesn’t meet the CMO’s requirements. The original disagreement involved a request for a B12 injection for a patient’s relative, which the CMO clarified was not for an emergency.
Kuttikar found the minister’s apology to be insufficient and requested it to be given at the site of the initial confrontation, suggesting it should be as highly publicized as the footage of his earlier interaction. The health minister’s initial apology was conveyed through social media, where he expressed his regret for the manner of his interactions. He acknowledged that the issue had become politicized, emphasizing his respect for medical professionals and their efforts.
