A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru faced an unusual predicament: being stuck inside the aircraft’s lavatory throughout the entire flight. The airline has apologized and reportedly offered a refund. The incident, which occurred on Monday night, has become a trending topic online.
The passenger was eventually rescued after the plane landed in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers intervened to open the malfunctioning toilet door, which had become locked mid-flight.
The Mumbai-Bengaluru flight, delayed by two hours, took off at 2:10 AM. A passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom soon after takeoff, only to find themselves unable to exit due to a jammed door lock.
Crew members attempted to assist, but the door remained stuck. They then devised a creative solution, passing a handwritten note under the door to reassure the passenger and advise them to stay seated until landing.
Photos of the note have circulated widely on social media, generating amusement. The flight landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM. The airline has issued a statement of regret and apologized for the inconvenience.
