An embarrassing situation unfolded on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru when a passenger was stuck inside the airplane’s lavatory for the entire journey. The airline has issued an apology and offered a refund, but the unusual event has left many in disbelief. The passenger was finally ‘rescued’ upon landing in Bengaluru, with ground staff and engineers managing to open the faulty door.
The incident occurred on a Monday night. The flight departed Mumbai Airport at 2:10 AM after a two-hour delay. The passenger in seat 14D entered the restroom shortly after takeoff and was unable to exit because the door lock had jammed, leading to considerable distress. Both the passenger and the crew attempted to unlock the door without success.
The crew sought to comfort the passenger by slipping a handwritten note under the door, asking them to remain seated until the flight landed in Bengaluru. The image of the note quickly went viral online, generating amusement and commentary on social media regarding the incident. The flight landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM. Following landing, airport engineers opened the door. The airline has expressed regret and apologized to the passenger.
