In a shocking case of sexual assault, a tribal minor girl was gang-raped by ten individuals during a wedding celebration in the Godda district of Jharkhand. The incident took place in the Sunderpahadi police station area. The victim, a minor, had reportedly stepped away from the wedding venue at night, seeking a private space.
Approximately ten men spotted the girl and, driven by their depraved desires, seized her. They silenced her, dragging her to a secluded location within the village. There, they subjected her to a brutal gang-rape. News of the assault caused immediate alarm and outrage within the community. A village panchayat was subsequently convened to address the situation.
**Police Action and Arrests**
Efforts to suppress the gravity of the crime were made. However, when justice was denied, the victim’s family sought police intervention, filing a formal complaint against the ten accused. Acting swiftly, the Sunderpahadi police arrested eight of the perpetrators. All those arrested are residents of the Sunderpahadi police station area.
**Legal Proceedings**
A medical examination of the victim was conducted, and a case was registered against the eight accused under the POSCO Act and other relevant sections. The police investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining two suspects. This incident is especially concerning as it follows a similar case in the Godda district.
**Bokaro Incident**
In a separate incident in the Bokaro district, four men in the Sector-12 police station area assaulted a couple returning from the market. They forced them to consume alcohol. The men then restrained the husband and, in his presence, gang-raped his wife. The Sector-12 police acted promptly to arrest the four perpetrators.
