Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraaj Party, has strongly criticized the Bihar government’s pension scheme, which provides Rs 400 per month to senior citizens. Kishor argued that this amount is insufficient, stating that even beggars earn more. During a public address in Begusarai, Kishor pledged to increase the pension amount to Rs 2,000 per month if his party comes into power, starting from December 2025. He also outlined his plans to address unemployment and improve the education system. Kishor promised to ensure that young people would find employment within Bihar, negating the need to migrate to other states. In terms of education, he proposed a program to cover the expenses for children from poor families to attend private English schools. Kishor’s ongoing ‘Badlav Yatra’ aims to bring about change in Bihar and involves criticism of the current ruling parties.
