A convoy carrying RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, was involved in an accident on Saturday morning in Vaishali district. A speeding truck collided with two vehicles in the convoy near Goraul while en route to Patna from Madhepura. The incident occurred during a tea break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. Yadav, who was a few meters away from the crash, escaped without injury. Three security officials sustained injuries in the crash and were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. The truck driver was arrested, and the truck was seized by local police. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident, with possible factors including speeding or driver exhaustion. The event has intensified worries about the security of political figures traveling long distances on Bihar’s roads, especially at night. RJD members have taken to social media, expressing gratitude for Yadav’s safety while also demanding improved road safety measures and stricter traffic rule enforcement. Party officials have called for a thorough examination of VIP security measures on the road, especially considering visibility and road conditions. Tejashwi Yadav has resumed his normal schedule, conveying to his supporters that he is safe and unaffected by the incident.
