Four Baloch fighters lost their lives in a violent clash with a ‘state-backed’ armed group in Barkhan, Balochistan. The battle unfolded in the Koh-e-Jandar area of Rakni tehsil, extending over several hours. Witnesses reported the use of heavy weapons during the fighting. The casualties have been identified as Mustafa Noor, Samiullah, Rasaan Qadir, and Shahzaib, with their remains transported to a Rakni hospital. The Pakistani government has yet to issue an official statement concerning the incident.
Concurrently, a separate military operation by Pakistani forces in the Spilinji area of Mastung district led to intense fighting. Large contingents of troops moved into the mountainous region late Thursday night, resulting in intense gunfire and explosions. Both sides experienced casualties, and reinforcements and ambulances were observed entering the area. The precise number of dead and wounded remains unknown, and no Baloch armed group has claimed responsibility for the clashes in Spilinji. The incidents underscore the persistent conflict between Baloch nationalist groups and state forces in the region.
