Union Minister Chirag Paswan has announced that he will contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections from all 243 seats, as he addressed a public meeting in Ara. He clarified that his aim is to strengthen the NDA alliance and contribute to its success. He also stated that his decision on which constituency to contest from will be based on the people’s choice.
Paswan didn’t mince words in his criticism of the RJD and Congress, holding them accountable for the ‘jungle raj.’ He referred to the Bharat Ratna awarded to Karpoori Thakur, a move by the current government. Furthermore, he responded to Rahul Gandhi’s statements about election irregularities, suggesting it was an attempt to find excuses for an expected loss. Paswan believes that accusing the Election Commission and questioning EVMs indicate Gandhi’s pre-emptive acceptance of defeat. He also clarified that he is not interested in the Chief Minister’s position, and that his participation would be to bolster the NDA.
