A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru saw a passenger confined to the aircraft’s lavatory throughout the journey. The unfortunate event, which resulted from a malfunctioning door lock, has drawn widespread attention.
The flight, departing Mumbai two hours behind schedule, experienced the incident shortly after takeoff. The passenger, after entering the restroom, found themselves unable to exit. Crew members attempted to rectify the situation but were unable to open the door.
In response, the crew delivered a handwritten message to the passenger, encouraging them to remain calm and stay seated until arrival in Bengaluru. The note quickly circulated online, prompting amusement and comments on the crew’s handwriting. The flight landed in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM, at which point engineers were able to open the door.
SpiceJet has issued an apology to the affected passenger.
