After the early arrival of the Southwest Monsoon, many states experienced heavy rainfall, but that phase is now over. The India Meteorological Department anticipates normal weather patterns across the country. Delhi-NCR and other regions are now grappling with a renewed heatwave. In Delhi, the capital, heat is returning after recent rains. The weather department doesn’t foresee any rain in the coming days. The weather is expected to be clear today, with highs of 40 degrees Celsius and lows of 26 degrees Celsius. Temperatures may remain above 40 degrees Celsius from tomorrow until June 14. Thus, Delhi residents should prepare for five more days of heat.
Uttar Pradesh is also in the grip of a severe heatwave. The state is experiencing intense daytime sun, resulting in significant heat. The weather department does not predict any rain in the state until June 11. Heat waves could hit Bundelkhand, Vindhya, and surrounding areas between June 9 and 11. From June 11, easterly winds could activate in eastern Uttar Pradesh, potentially triggering rainfall.
In Bihar, the weather will be dry across most districts today. Patna, the state’s capital, could see a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. The weather department has issued a rain warning starting June 10. Before that, the state may face humid conditions. The maximum and minimum temperatures may increase by up to four degrees. Ranchi, Jharkhand’s capital, and several other districts could see light rain and thunderstorms in the evening.
Severe heat is expected in certain states, while rain is forecast for Northeast India. Heat waves could hit western Rajasthan from June 8-11, Punjab and Haryana from June 9-11, and northern Madhya Pradesh on June 9 and 10. Heavy rain is expected in South India and the Northeast starting June 10. Light to moderate rain is expected in most parts of Northeast India over the next seven days.
Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are seeing intense heat. The mountain regions of Uttarakhand are experiencing strong sunshine, causing heat. However, the weather is expected to change rapidly in the mountains. There is a chance of rain in several areas of Himachal Pradesh on June 12-13.
