In Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with key officers involved in the recent anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh, acknowledging their historic achievements. Shah highlighted the Modi government’s dedication to eliminating Naxalism nationwide. He expressed a desire to meet the courageous jawans and will soon visit Chhattisgarh. These operations, conducted under the Union Home Minister’s direction, saw the Chhattisgarh Police and DRG units carrying out missions in Abujhmad from May 18-21. A significant encounter on May 21 resulted in the death of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) leader Basavaraju, and the seizure of a large cache of weapons. Amit Shah honored the participating officers, including the Director General of Police, Additional Director General of Police, Inspector General of Police, and several Superintendents of Police. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, and other senior officials.
