40 lakh illegal cigarettes seized from corona special train at old delhi railway station

Customs preventive officials seized 4.5 lakh cigarettes brought illegally in a Kovid special train at Old Delhi railway station. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. He said that the ‘Paris’ brand cigarettes valued at about Rs 40 lakh were packed in 15 boxes. They are suspected to have been trafficked from Bangladesh.

Officials said that these coaches have been recovered from a cargo compartment of the train, which goes from Howrah to Delhi via Amritsar in lockdown. He said that these cigarettes manufactured in Bangladesh are suspected of being smuggled into the country through Howrah from the India-Bangladesh border. He said that no arrests have been made so far. Further investigation in the case is going on.
