Raipur, CGnews: The headman of a village was beaten to death and his house set ablaze on Feb 28, reportedly in an inter-caste clash. Ten people were injured in the clash in Niwari village, 80 km north of the Raipur.

 

Tension gripped when two groups of villagers clashed over organizing a cultural event. The program was finally conducted in the presence of policemen but after that in the morning of Feb 28 bloodbath clash happened when one group opposed to the headman Bholaram and started to beat him till his death.
 “I can’t say whether the incident had anything to do with a caste conflict. I am waiting for a detailed report,” Ranjan said.
