Raipur, CGnews: Chief Minister Raman Singh, who also holds the portfolio of finance, on Feb 22 tabled the economic survey of Chhattisgarh for 2007-08 in the state assembly, and according to that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Chhattisgarh has grown 9.41 percent and its per capita income stands at Rs.25,321 in 2007-08, up 12.43 percent over the previous year.
According to the State official figure state’s GDP was estimated at Rs.593.21 billion. At constant prices, it has recorded a growth of 9.41 percent over 2005-06, which was comparable with the all-India growth rate of 9.6 percent, the survey said. |

Maharashtra should learn a lesson from Chhattisgarh. Farmers of Vidarbha especially are being forced to make suicides due to the Anti-agriculture policy of the government there.
The primary sector, which includes agriculture, forestry and mining, has grown 6.32 percent, with agriculture registering a growth of 4.29 percent.
Against the growth target of 6.10 percent in GDP, it achieved 8.68 percent growth rate, with agriculture registering 6.26 percent - more than double the target of three percent.
The services sector recorded a growth of 7.78 percent against a target of 7.5 percent.
Secondary sector, which includes industry and manufacturing, there has been a sharp increase in the growth rate, which was 14.7 percent as compared to the target of 7.5 percent, the survey revealed.
Dr Raman, is being praised by even the UPA Govt for the all around progress of Chattisgarh in his Chief Ministership.
