Raipur, CGnews: In Orissa and Chhattisgarh opposition Congress Legislative members become law breaker on the issue of law breaker armed Maoists.

Soon after the question hour, Congress legislators moved the adjournment motion over irregularities in the jails and alleged that the lapse resulted in the sensational jail break incident in Dantewada in December 16 last year. In Dantewada, about 300 inmates, including 110 hardcore Maoists, escaped.

The opposition members accused the jail officials of laxity in security arrangements, resulting in the escape of 300 inmates of the district jail.

They also demanded the resignation of state Home and Jail Minister Ram Vichar Netam.

State home minister Ramvichar Netam denied the charges and said the government was committed to root out rebels from the state.

But the Congress members caused pandemonium in the house and said the government was not serious about tackling the Maoist menace in the state.

Following this, the Chair asked the Opposition to put forth their arguments for acceptance of the motion.

However, they opposed it and pressed for discussion on the adjournment motion and not on its merit for acceptance.

While raising anti-government slogans, they entered the well of the House along with one NCP member Novel Verma.

Chhattisgarh House rule says that anyone entering the well of the House will automatically be suspended.

Following this, Deputy Speaker Badirdhar Diwan suspended 19 Congress MLAs.

Opposition overlooked their defeat in Maoists most affected Keshkal by-election. Voting was 70% there more than previous election. Congress MLAs also rejected the certificate given by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to the CM Dr Raman for his successful handling Naxal problem in the state. At the time of discussion in the assembly Congress lMLA Satya Narayan Sharma in taunting language said that BJP should tongue ‘tabeej’ of that.

The Congress legislators were suspended under section 250 (1) of the rules of procedure and conduct of business of the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly). Under this section, membership of a member who enters the well of the house is deemed suo moto suspended for a period the speaker might later decide.
