Chhattisgarh Govt has decided to sell unused water which floated waste in canals .
State Govt agreed to supply water to The Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) who runs the country’s largest open copper mine project in Madhya Pradesh. HCL would pay Rs.9.9 million to Chhattisgarh for the supply. Government approved a proposal to provide water to the Malanjkhand Copper Project in Balaghat district to meet its water requirement in summer. They would supply 2.07 million cusec water from its Baherakhar reservoir to the project. And the officer said that it will continue until HCL starts getting sufficient water from its original water source. |
