Raipur, CGnews: According to the State Congress President Charan Das Mahant, Congress will be contested on the basis of collective leadership instead of projecting Ajit Jogi as Chief Ministerial candidate of Congress. This was said by Mahant in his press conference of Raigarh. But there is a contradiction on this on behalf of Jogi’s loyalist former home minister of the state Nand kumar Patel. Patel said that it is the subject of Congress High Command, not of the state congress. Choice of CM after the election is the subject matter of Sonia Gandhi.
Congress could not project its candidates for CM post in the previous held assembly elections of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Gujarat due to the tussle betweent the aspirants of CM post.

Mahant said in the press conference that efforts would be made to allot 50% party tickets to fresh faces. He called the Mukhya Mantri Khadyan Sahayta Yojana as a election propaganda and said that if Congress comes to power, it would provide rice to the poor at Rs 2/kg. But he did not clarify why Congress would not provide the same when it was ruled in Chhattisgarh.
Mahant added that BJP governments this scheme could be a plot to benefit rice mill owners. But he could not clarify then why he said that if Congress would be power then it would also provide Rs 2/kg rice. He gave more assurance of giving Rs 100 to tendu leaf collectors instead of 50 which they are getting now.
Result of the press conference is that BJP government is doing, and Congress is promising to do which it could not do in its tenure.
