Raipur, CGnews: World’s longest ‘Rangoli’ is being given shape in Raipur of thechhattisgarh. Credit is gone to the Mahakaushal Kala Vithika of the Chhattisgarh. This Vithika has become tourist attraction now. Like that credit gone to BJP for making Chhattisgarh a new state and few days back announcement of Chhattisgarhi the state official language.

"Mahakaushal Kala Vithika", the only non-government Art Gallery of M.P. is located at a distance of less than a kilometer from historical JAISTAMBH the heart of the city, very near to D.K. Hospital. The building is an octagonal shaped structure made of carved stones. This kind of construction makes it look attractive & very very different from others. To add to the inner beauty of the hall, each of the eight sides have a beautiful designer arch carved on them. There is a central hall which has a huge pillar, with carvings on it, providing basic strength to the monument to have survived for over a century.

It is good news for the artists of India and especially the chhattisgarhias. This unique rangoli making program is being organized under the supervision of Mahakaushal Kala Parishad, Lions Club Raipur Friends and Rotary Club Raipur.

here was a building called Museum in memory of Mahant Ghasidas. Currently the building is maintained by "Mahakaushal Kala Parishad" after whose name the building is named as the "Mahakaushal Art Gallery". The Kala Parishad was founded by Lt.Shri Kalyan Prasad Sharma. The building is under the Parishad's patronage since 1959.

As is evident, the building is used as an " Art Gallery" for the display of the works of art. Throughout the year, various exhibitions of Paintings, Sculpture & Caricatures etc are occasionally organised here. Esteemed organisations such as IPTA, Kendriya Lalit Kala Academy, Lok Kala Parishad, Indira Kala Sangeet Vidyalaya & many more remain in constant touch with the Vithika for their workshops & displays. The Parishad has gained people's confidence by being active socially.

Engaged GROUP of ‘rangoli’ artists of the state is anxious to get registered their final shape of Longest Rangoli of the world in the Limca book.

Hindu daily reported that there was a contest held on the Marina in Cheenai in Jan 2007.

Media reported one week back: The artists decided to give all the moviegoers a visual treat by bringing alive bolly stars on rangoli.

"This time we wanted to do something different and offer more film related things to do. That is why we have organised this film star rangoli competition," said Vishnu Wagh, Chairman Programme, Committee, and International Film Festival India (IFFI).
