Raipur, CGnews: Bharatiya Janta Party has won the Keshkal Assembly bypoll over huge margin of 21,880 votes. This biggest victory of BJP had boosted the party workers. They enjoy the victory by distributing sweets and fire crackers in the party office.

Sevakram Netam of BJP has defeated his nearest rival Budhson Markam of Congress by a margin of 21,880 votes in the bypoll election held in Keskal naxal belt area of Bastar district. This assembly was vacant due to die of BJP MLA Mahesh Baghel in a road accident recently.

Sewakram Netam has got 58,362 votes while his opponents Congress got 36,476 votes and independent Sonuram Naik got 7,307 votes. Nohruram Sorig and Mahesh Thakur got 3,899 votes and 3,114 votes respectively. All independent lost their deposits.

The by-poll to the Keshkal seat in the Maoist insurgency-infested Bastar district was necessitated as the BJP legislator, Mahesh Baghel, was killed in a car accident in August last year. Keshkal is a Scheduled Tribe reserved seat.
